In Episode 003 of the Ideas to Books Podcast, we begin a series of interviews with authors who share how they come up with ideas and develop those ideas into books.
This episode features Susan Page Davis, who has written over 70 published novels. Wow! A Maine native, she now lives in Western Kentucky with her husband, Jim, a retired news editor. They have six adult children, ten grandchildren, and two cats.
Susan shares the origins of several books, including a few ideas that developed from events she discovered through looking into her family’s genealogy. Near the end of this episode, Susan shares some creative research methods she’s used.
Visit her website at: www.susanpagedavis.com, where you can see all her books, sign up for her occasional newsletter, and read a short story on her romance page.
Susan’s newest book, Heartbreaker Hero, was just released July 1.
More about Heartbreaker Hero:
All detective Eddie Thibodeau wants to do is marry the woman he loves, but after a Facebook post goes viral, that may not be easy. It seems half the women in Portland are in love with the handsome detective, and Leeanne Wainthrop isn’t sure whether she can trust Eddie’s declaration of love or not.
A dead man found in Chief Mike Browning’s back yard on Christmas Day is the first clue to a plan hatched from vengeance. Can Eddie ignore the distractions of his love life and measure up when he comes face to face with a hired killer? The men of the Priority Unit are ready to stop a released criminal intent on murder. Once again, they set out to deliver Maine Justice.
Susan has received many awards during her writing career, including the Carol Award, 2 Inspirational Readers’ Choice Awards, 2 Will Rogers Medallions for Western Fiction, runner up in the WILLA Literary Awards and More Than Magic Contest. Susan Page Davis is absolutely one of my favorite authors and fellow-Mainers. She’s such a nice gal! I’m pulling out several of her books from my shelf I haven’t’ read and hope to have a marathon of her books in the next 4 weeks before college classes start again. Love, love, love her stories.
