Episode 18 of the Ideas to Books Podcast features an interview with Southern-fried Fiction author Ane Mulligan. Ane has several books published, and her newest release is from her popular Chapel Springs series.
Meet Ane:
I’ve been a voracious reader ever since my mother instilled within me her own love of reading at an early age. Together we would escape into worlds otherwise unknown.
A new love entered my life when I saw Mary Martin in PETER PAN. Struck with a fever from which I never recovered, I submerged myself in drama through high school and college, but, alas, Broadway never found my phone number.
While a large, floppy straw hat is my favorite, I’ve worn many different ones: hairdresser, legislative affairs director (that’s a fancy name for a lobbyist), business manager, creative arts director and writer. My lifetime experience provides a plethora of fodder for my Southern-fried fiction (try saying that three times fast).
I wrote and published my first script in 1996 and to date, I have over 4-dozen scripts in print and numerous articles on various aspects of Christian drama and the craft of writing. In Jan of 2003, having quit my job with my husband’s encouragement, I began to write full time. I reside in Sugar Hill, Georgia with my artist husband, our chef son, and a wooly mammoth…uh, English mastiff.
About Ane’s latest book – Life in Chapel Springs (Chapel Springs Series Book 4)
Is it a midlife pregnancy or cancer? Claire will keep her secret until she’s sure but it’s not easy. Neither is trying to buy a home pregnancy test without anyone finding out. Between her twins double wedding, the caterer canceling, a looming nationwide art tour and her health, Claire’s life is upside down.
Shy Lacey Dawson was happily writing murder mysteries for the community theater with her eye on Broadway. Then, a freak accident causes her traumatic injuries requiring facial reconstruction. When the bandages come off, Lacey’s world is tuned inside out. Will Chapel Springs rally behind its own … or will life unravel?
When the mayor announces he has found quartz on his land, the local TV station reports: “Where there’s quartz, there’s gold.” Then Mayor Riley discovers Howie Newlander has bought the mineral rights to his land. Howie and his nefarious investors are struck with gold fever and set out to buy all the homes in Chapel Springs in order to mine the gold. Will life in Chapel Springs become the tailings of a gold mine?
