What will you find on my website?
The short answer is – lots of free (and some paid) training content on marketing, blogging, writing geared toward authors, speakers and small business owners.
On the Home Page
You’ll see a link to the welcome video (the bright orange “New Here? Start Here?” box). Under the main header image is a quick link to the free Ideas to Books Podcast in iTunes.
Scrolling down, you’ll see a blurb about my FREE Checklists for Writers. You can grab a set of the first six when you join my (also free) email community. Once you’ve confirmed your request to join (by clicking a link in an email message you’ll receive), you’ll be automatically redirected to a page with the download links. Then, you’ll get a new checklist about once per month. You’ll also get news & info from me occasionally via email about tips, tools and training to help writers and authors.
Next, you’ll see a link inviting you to view my speaking topics. I’d love to share a presentation with your writers’ group!
Underneath that link you can find information about my latest book. This section will be updated whenever I have a new release.
Scroll down a bit more and you’ll find a link to my FREE e-course “WordPress Basics.” It gives step-by-step instructions on how to set up a self-hosted WordPress website. It contains a lot of useful information, including a cool trick about creating custom widgets that can save you tons of time!
The latest posts from my blog and podcast show notes are featured beneath the WordPress Basics link, and after that is a link that tells how you can work with me one-on-one through my coaching program.
Right under the “Let’s Chat” bar, you’ll see links to a lot of places we can connect online. Pick your favorite social platform(s) and follow/like/subscribe to/connect with me so we can get to know each other better.
The proverbial “Home” link, followed by a link to the About Me page. That page shares an essay I wrote about my life (once upon a time . . .). Beneath the About Me link, you can find a link to About this Site (the page you’re currently reading!), a download link to my brochure (in PDF form) and a gallery of screenshots for some of the client sites I’ve built.
The “I write” tab clicks to a portfolio of my published books. There are also quick links to each book’s description page beneath the “I write” tab. Under the “I teach” tab you can view links to various workshops and presentations I offer. The next two tabs – I design & I coach – share a bit about my services.
The footer displays on every page, and includes a search bar, list of the most recent courses added, my latest tweet, and links to all the legal mumbo jumbo we’re supposed to put on our sites.
Top Menu Links:
The first tab across the top goes to the Blog. Next, you’ll see the word “Courses,” which has a dropdown list of the courses I currently have available. Many are free. After the Courses tab, you can find a link called “Podcast,” which directs to the Show Notes posts from the Ideas to Books Podcast. Be sure to subscribe so you won’t miss any episodes!
Just to the right of the Podcast tab is a link to my Slide Show Presentations. These are slides from past presentations I’ve done that I posted on SlideShare. After that comes the Videos page. There, you’ll find a playlist of video tutorials I’ve published to YouTube. More are being added as I create them, so be sure to check back frequently.
Click on the Services link to open a page that explains the services I offer. There’s also a Contact Form on that page in case you have questions about a specific service or wish to schedule a free initial 15-minute consultation.
If you’re wondering “Where in the world is Linda?” you can click on the Events tab to view conferences, book signings, and other events I’m scheduled to attend.
The next tab – Resources – has dropdown links to articles as well as links to resource sites. Following that is a link to the Freebies category. Be sure to check back periodically, as I add new Freebies from time to time. Some of the current offerings were once paid products that are now being offered to you at no cost.
If you’re interested in being a part of my “Street Team,” click on the Influencers tab. I usually have something going on that needs promotion help from my community, so I’d love to have you join the team!
Next you’ll find the Members tab. Right now, that’s just a placeholder, as the Member Area is currently a “work in progress.” But, as soon as it’s ready to roll, that link will go straight to it!
Following the Members tab, you can click the testimonials link to read comments from some of the amazing people I’ve worked with in the past.
My online Shop is “Coming Soon,” so for the moment, that tab leads to a page that says, well, coming soon! 😉
The support tab links to my help desk. If you have any technical issues with courses, downloads, the member area, etc., simply click on this tab and submit a support ticket and we’ll resolve your issue as soon as possible. You can also reach my support system directly by going to LindasHelpDesk.com.
Finally, the last link in the upper menu goes to my Contact Page. There’s a form on that page you can use if you have any comments, non-support related questions, or if you just want to say hi.
The main sidebar contains a form that will get you those FREE checklists I mentioned earlier as well as sign you up for a free monthly checklist subscription. Under that you’ll find buttons that link to the Ideas to Books Podcast on iTunes and Google Play. Finally, you’ll find a form that subscribes you to my blog via email. It’s also free.
Whew! That’s a LOT of stuff! But I hope you find it all helpful.
If there’s a particular point in marketing you’re struggling with, send me a note via the Contact Page and ask me to blog about it. If I can help with the area you need help with, I’ll do my best!
